NABARRO, Malcolm D.

Nabarro, Malcolm - 1948 - I400

On the steps at Nottingham Midland 1960.

Across the front row Michael Griffin, Malcolm Nabarro, Kevin Guy, (?), John Round (in the blazer), Michael Cupit. Directly behind Michael Cupit is Martin Palmer the scoutmaster’s son.

Across the top and starting with the old gentleman on the left, who was nicknamed ‘Gally’, he was the Assistant District Commissioner and had just come to see us off. During the summer he lived in an old gypsy caravan by Oxton Woods. Then is Ian Richardson (Gruey), (?), Smith, Bob Slack, Mr. Palmer our brave Scoutmaster. The older man next to him is also unknown. I'm amazed I can't put more names to faces.

"Malcolm Nabarro was a friend of mine in the same year and if you Google his name you will find he was a composer, a conductor and the founder of the East of England Orchestra, a marvelous achievement and I’m a musical philistine." - John Round
